HSE Alumnus Appointed Minister of Digital Development
Konstantin Noskov, who received his Master’s degree from HSE University in 2001, will head the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media. He is the second HSE alumnus to join the Russian government: Maxim Oreshkin will continue to lead the Ministry of Economic Development.
Who Knew Snow Could Be So Colourful!
Aditi Koomar and Shreyak Tare are exchange students from Indian Institute of Management Raipur, a partner university of HSE-Nizhny Novgorod. They are pursuing a Master's degree in Management with a major in Marketing and Human Resource. They have come from Kerala, a southern Indian state, to Nizhny Novgorod for three months to study Brand Management and Marketing of Innovations at the Faculty of Management. HSE Science Battles Short-listed for the ‘Silver Archer’ Prize
The winner of the Student Project Contest, the HSE Science Battles, has been short-listed for an award recognizing development in the field of Public Relations, the ‘Silver Archer’ prize. Organizers of the Battles will now fight for the major prize in PR. They’ll be up against the biggest Russian and international communication firms in a show-down that will be open to the public on February 16 at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
Maarten Janssen Named Honorary Professor of HSE
For nearly a quarter of century, Maarten Janssen, a well-known expert in microeconomics and currently a professor at the University of Vienna, has been working with HSE. A ceremony awarding him the honorary title took place at a meeting of the HSE Academic Council.
Young HSE Researchers Receive Awards from Moscow Government
The Moscow Government has presented various awards to several young HSE researchers - Aigul Mavletova, Evgeny Feigin and Alexey Vdovin.
All Cultures Day at the School of Psychology
On December 21st Master's programme in Applied Social Psychology organized the 4th annual All Cultures Day at the School of Psychology. International students from many faculties and schools, including Preparatory year students, gathered to celebrate HSE’s multicultural environment and the Russian New Year.

Golden HSE Winners 2017
This year’s Golden HSE awards ceremony took place on December 1 and saw a record number of nominees with 355 contenders for 10 different nomination categories. The winners of each category were determined in two stages. In addition, this year’s event was the second time the Golden Citation award was given out. This is an ‘award within an award’ that is given to the most-cited researcher.
