HSE University and Pobeda Airlines Launch Joint Competition
HSE Art and Design School, in collaboration with the Pobeda Airlines, has announced the start of a competition to create a new uniform design for flight attendants and representatives of the airline. Young professional designers, as well as students over 18 years old studying at Russian universities in full-time and part-time programmes in the field of ‘Design and Fashion,’ will have the opportunity to showcase their talent.
The competition is being held as part of the events dedicated to the airline's 10th anniversary. The main requirement is to update the uniform, emphasising the individuality, style, and values of the air company. The new design should combine corporate elements with modern and vibrant details to enhance brand recognition and customer appeal.
It was Pobeda Airlines who initiated this competition, said Anzor Kankulov, Head of the ‘Fashion’ Programme at HSE Art and Design School. ‘Pobeda has been operating for 10 years, and perhaps it is time to refresh the company with a new look.’ This competition is a promising project for the School and the ‘Fashion’ Programme, where students and their creative potential are always in the spotlight, adds Anzor Kankulov.
The competition for the new Pobeda uniform design will be a real challenge and will test the professionalism of young designers. Participation in this project will allow them not only to showcase their abilities but also make a significant contribution to creating a unique image for the airline. ‘Therefore, for us, it is a mutually beneficial situation, a win-win for both sides,’ notes Anzor Kankulov. ‘We made the competition open, but for our students, it will be a targeted task. We expect all of them to participate and submit projects, but that does not mean they are sure to win.’
The distinguished jury of the competition includes:
Leonid Markov, Director of Marketing and Customer Service at Pobeda Airlines;
Ekaterina Sycheva, Curator of the ‘Clothing Design’ profile at HSE Art and Design School;
Ekaterina Pavelko, Academic Supervisor of the Bachelor's programme in Fashion at HSE Art and Design School;
Natalia Savina, Press Secretary at Pobeda Airlines;
Sabina Penner, SMM specialist at Pobeda Airlines;
Anzor Kankulov, Head of the ‘Fashion’ Programme at HSE Art and Design School;
Margarita Fonaskova, Head of the Cabin Crew Department at Pobeda Airlines.
‘At the first stage, we will jointly review the initial applications,’ explained Anzor Kankulov. ‘At this level, the jury will give recommendations to individual or all projects. Sometimes an idea is good, but some solutions may not quite fit, for example. We try to make adjustments so that everyone can get the most out of their project. The second stage is the review of updated and finalised presentations in the format of project defence.’
To participate, you need to submit an application on the official competition webpage by June 30, 2024. The winners will be announced on July 20, 2024.
