Students at the Faculty of Computer Science Win Apple’s WWDC Scholarship
Second year Software Engineering students Vadim Drobinin and Alexander Zimin have been named the winners of the WWDC Scholarship. In June they will take part in the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which is an annual international conference for Apple developers held in California 8-12 June.
Postgraduates at the Institute of Education Become Part of the International Research Community
This year government funding is available for twenty places (4 times more than usual) on the Education and Pedagogical Sciences course at the HSE Postgraduate Institute of Education. Calligraphy Workshop Participants Take a Trip Through Chinese History
‘Calligraphy and painting are two arts that have different names, but are one and the same,’ wrote Chinese art historian Zhang Yanyuan. Participants of the School of Asian Studies’ lecture and workshop ‘The Magic of Chinese Characters and the Secret of Calligraphy,’ which took place at the State Museum of Oriental Art as part of the Open University project, were able to witness this firsthand.
‘Our Students Are More Than Ready for Any Top-rated PhD Programme’
This year, 14 students and graduates of HSE's Faculty of Economics were admitted to PhD programmes at leading universities in the U.S. This is particularly noteworthy because nine of these students are seniors and graduates of HSE’s joint undergraduate programme with the New Economic School (NES) and of HSE’s undergraduate economics programme.
HSE Students Win International Humanitarian Law Competition
The winning team included students from the Jurisprudence programme in HSE's Faculty of Law: Yury Varlamov, Alina Gegamova, and Olga Kiseleva. The annual Martens International Humanitarian Law Competition is organised by the International Committee of the Red Cross with the support of the Russian Association of International Law.
Brazilian Student Comes to Russia to Realise His Dreams

HSE Students on the Winning Team in McKinsey Business Diving Competition
McKinsey Business Diving is one of the biggest business case solving competitions in Russia. This year it had 2700 student entries from 181 HEIs across the country. HSE students Evgenia Deusheva and Mark Shchetinin were on the winning team.

The finalists in the Model for an International Criminal Court competition have been announced at HSE. This game in the form of a trial is based on proceedings at the ICC in the Hague. In Russia the first two rounds of the competition are happening for the 4th time, for three years in a row they have been held at the HSE Faculty of Law.
