A number of educational programmes at HSE University combine subject training with the in-depth study of computer science and complex digital tools and services. One such undergraduate programme is Computational Social Sciences (CSS), which first-year students enrolled in Psychology, Public Administration, Political Science, or Sociology can switch to. In this interview, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Daria Prisyazhniuk and the programme’s Academic Supervisor Evgeny Sedashov explain the programme’s content and how to enrol.

On November 22, the atrium of the HSE building on Pokrovsky Boulevard hosted the traditional Career Marathon organised by the Career Development Centre. The main objective of the event was to introduce HSE students to potential employers—companies and their representatives. At the poster session, the university’s students had the opportunity to network with employees of major Russian banks, marketplaces, financial institutions, and IT integrators, gaining valuable first-hand information.

Employment rates for ICEF alumni in 2023 remain consistently high. Just a month after graduating from the International Bachelor’s Programme in Economics and Finance, 93% of graduates confirmed to the ICEF Career Centre that they had received job offers or decided to continue their studies in Russia and abroad in master’s and PhD programmes. In the 2023/24 academic year, the Bachelor’s programme in Software Engineering at HSE University’s Faculty of Computer Science has a new academic supervisor. Nikolay Pavlochev has experience in successfully implementing initiatives for the development of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT). HSE University has announced the results of its 2023/24 online admissions campaign. The university, which leads in CIS countries in terms of the number of online programmes (three bachelor’s and 18 master’s), has once again attracted the most students this year with a total of 1,750 admissions.

On October 10, 2016, the Faculty of Physics was created at HSE University. It was the university’s first natural science faculty. Starting from 2024, applicants to the HSE Art and Design School in St Petersburg will be able to choose a new track in Fashion Design—something unique to the city’s fashion industry. Students of the new track will study according to a special programme developed by the HSE Art and Design School. The track has already been successfully tested on the Moscow campus and has shown impressive results, judging by the careers of its graduates.
