
‘Feel the Atmosphere of Different Cultures’: HSE University Holds Oriental Crazy Day
On May 17, the eleventh Oriental Crazy Day, organised by the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, took place at the HSE Cultural Centre. Anyone interested in Asian Studies, culture and languages, as well as admission to HSE University could take part in the event. Students and teachers of the university prepared master classes, quizzes and contests, K-pop dancing and kabuki theatre, Asian songs and poetry for all the participants.

Interactive Workshops, Thematic Quizzes, and New Partnerships: HSE Delegation Visits Mongolia
Representatives of HSE University visited the Mongolian capital, Ulaanbaatar. The visit focused on developing cooperation in the fields of education and science, as well as introducing Mongolian school pupils and students to the educational opportunities available at one of Russia’s leading universities.

Integration Processes in International Trade Discussed during Conference at HSE University
Under decoupling conditions, Russia has become the ‘centre of gravity’ for the Eurasian integration process and has the potential to play a unifying role in the emerging multipolar world. These were the main points discussed by participants and guests at the International Scientific and Practical Conference ‘Dimensions of Eurasian Integration: Transport and Logistics, Energy, and Food Security’ held by the HSE University Institute for Public Administration and Governance (IPAG).

HSE University–St Petersburg Holds Fair of Nationalities of Russia
The HSE building on Kantemirovskaya Street hosted a fair that brought together representatives of various nationalities of Russia. Dagestanis, Komi-Permyaks, ethnic Russians, Yakuts, Nenets, and Pomors presented their native land, showcased national dishes, organised workshops, and performed a concert programme.

Inclusive Exhibition about Special Listening Unit Opens at HSE Ahead of Victory Day
On April 16, 2025, the HSE Cultural Centre hosted the opening of the tactile and inclusive exhibition ‘Touch the History of Victory.’ The event is part of the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland, announced by the President of Russia, and commemorates the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945). The exhibition was developed by Vladimir Malyuchkov, a second-year master's student at the HSE Faculty of Creative Industries.

More Children, More Happiness: HSE Experts Study Impact of Number of Children on Russians' Assessment of Happiness
Russians with children feel happier than those without children. At the same time, the number of children influences the assessment of happiness: the more children Russians have, the happier they feel. These conclusions were outlined inthe report ‘More Children, More Happiness: The Impact of the Number of Children on Russians’ Assessment of Happiness,’ presented at the XXV Yasin (April) International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development, held on April 15–18 at HSE University. The study was conducted by Elena Churilova, Senior Research Fellow, and Dmitry Jdanov, Chief Research Fellowat HSE International Laboratory for Population and Health.

HSE Expands Cooperation with Gulf Countries
HSE University and the Centre for International Policy Research (Qatar) have agreed to collaborate in the field of social sciences, with plans for joint research, academic exchanges, and regular expert engagement. The agreement was signed during the roundtable ‘State Capacity and State Resilience in the Global South,’ held as part of the 25th Yasin (April) International Academic Conference at HSE University.

HSE Career Marathon: ‘We Should Take Advantage of All the Opportunities That the University Offers’
On April 10, the annual Career Marathon organised by the HSE Career Development Centre took place in the atrium of the HSE University building on Pokrovsky Bulvar. The event was held both on site and online. Students of various fields from both HSE and other universities took part in the event to broaden their career outlook and establish contacts with potential employers.

Results of Founding Conference of International Movement on Financial Security Announced
On March 27, 2025, HSE University hosted a hybrid-format conference marking the completion of efforts to establish the International Movement on Financial Security. During the meeting, the charter and roadmap were adopted, and the presidium was elected.

HSE University of the Future: A Look at the Open Day
On March 2, 2025, HSE University welcomed over 7,000 visitors to Pokrovka, where all campuses and faculties were represented alongside the Admissions Office, pre-university preparation projects, partners, and student organisations. This was part of a traditional, large-scale university event—the university-wide Open Day for prospective undergraduate and specialist degree students.
