A Shadow Play Performed by Students to Premiere at HSE School of Design
On March 16, first-year students of the ‘Event Design. Theatre. Performance’ programme at the HSE Art and Design School will perform a shadow play entitled 'Don't Seek Summer in Winter.' The premiere performance and the preceding event are based on a Slovak folk legend and Samuel Marshak's fairy tale 'The Twelve Months.' The performers will guide the audience through the four seasons, allowing viewers to experience all twelve months at once, like the main character in the fairy tale, and to discover light amidst the all-encompassing darkness. The event is open to anyone interested, but registration is required.

Imprint: An Open Competition for Photographers
The ‘Photography’ educational track of the HSE Art and Design School is launching an online magazine called Imprint. The magazine will focus on collecting, summarising, and making sense of information about modern photography in Russia. The school will support talented photographers and offer them a platform for creating, developing, and uniting.

Tea Ceremony, Naruto and Norigae: HSE Celebrates Year of the Green Wood Dragon
On the day of the second new moon after the winter solstice, the HSE Cultural Centre welcomed admirers of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese cultures. HSE students, teachers, and guests celebrated the Lunar New Year with South Korean hit songs and popular anime openings. They attended calligraphy and origami classes, tried regional sweets, and had Far Eastern teas. The festival ended with a big concert.

Until March 15, the exhibition ‘Winnie-the-Pooh and All, All, All’ will be held in the Children's and Youth Department of the Central City Youth Library named after M.A. Svetlov. Graduates of the continuing education programme ‘Illustration. Basic Course’ decided to take a fresh look at A. A. Milne's beloved fairy tale by drawing incredibly colourful posters.

On February 7, the lecture hall of the Russian 'Znanie' ('Knowledge') Society hosted a series of talks by HSE researchers and faculty as part of the 'Russia' International Exhibition and Forum. The talks covered a diverse array of topics, such as the interplay between innovation and creativity, how values are passed down between generations, debunking myths about Russia, the principles of successful communication in various contexts, and the concepts of collectivism and individualism. The events were open to the public.

The HSE Lyceum hosted the Big Winter Event, a traditional large-scale celebration culminating in a gathering of Lyceum students in the Atrium of the HSE University campus on Pokrovsky Bulvar. During the preparations for the grand ball, which took two months, more than 2,000 Lyceum students and employees explored the theme of ‘the Renaissance’ in a variety of ways.
