HSE University to Expand Scientific and Educational Cooperation with Two Universities in Qatar
At the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), HSE University signed Memoranda of Understanding with the University of Qatar and Hamad Bin Khalifa University. The agreements aim to strengthen the scientific potential of the universities and develop projects in teaching and research. In addition, HSE representatives took part in expert discussions at the Qatar National Pavilion at SPIEF.
How People’s Behaviour Has Changed in Public Places during the Pandemic
The HSE Centre for Fundamental Sociology has recently held ‘Logica Socialis’, an open social theory seminar. Andrei Korbut, Senior Research Fellow at the HSE Centre for Fundamental Sociology, presented his report entitled ‘COVID-19 as an interactional phenomenon: People’s behaviour in public places during the pandemic’.
Online Meetups with International Summer University Professors
In the run-up to the HSE International Summer University, which will open on June 20, a series of special online meetups are currently held in association with HSE’s eLearning Office. The meetups give international students an opportunity to meet HSE University professors who teach courses during the Summer University programme. Registration for the final meetup, on June 11, is now open.
Regional Competitiveness Practices to Be Discussed at the TCI Global Conference 2021
On September 15-17, 2021, Kazan will host the 24th TCI Global Conference, one of the main international events in the field of regional competitiveness and cluster development. The conference will be held in cooperation with HSE University.
‘HSE University Is the Perfect University for International Students’
The Department of Innovation Management at HSE University offers programmes in R&D and innovation management in companies, innovation infrastructure organisations, research and educational institutions. The department’s programmes attract not only Russian students, but also international applicants. For example, in 2020, Stefan Amaximoaie from Romania and Sharif Khlal from Syria graduated from the ‘Corporate Research, Development and Innovation Management’ Master’s programme and, following their graduation, decided to stay in Russia. They told the News Service about enrolling at HSE University and studying here.
HSE University and Garage Museum Wrap Up Joint Diversity Research Lab
On June 2, the HSE International Laboratory for Social Interaction Research and the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art successfully completed their joint Diversity Research Lab. The laboratory covered a number of topics related to social diversity, including interculturalism, life in a multinational country, ageism, poverty, and ableism. During the final online meeting of the project, the participants discussed universal design—a design which would allow for the creation of environments accessible to people regardless of their disability, age, or any other factors.
HSE Graduate School of Business Student Teams Win Flourish Prize 2021
In the contest organized by AIM2Flourish, students from various countries tell stories about companies that promote the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. HSE students won in the global goals of ‘Quality Education’ and ‘Partnerships for the Goals’ with cases of Kaspersky and VimpelCom PJSC (Beeline brand), respectively. They have become the first Russian representatives to earn these prestigious awards.
HSE University Ranks among Top-5 Russian Universities on CWTS Leiden Ranking
HSE University has placed fourth among Russian academic institutions on the Leiden Ranking, which evaluates the performance of universities based on bibliographic data on their scientific publications.
First Season of HSE Business Talk Successfully Completed
The online project 'Inspired by Your Bright Future: HSE Business Talk' was created for participants from all over the world as a platform for public discussions. From the end of November till the end of May, industry experts and HSE professors held twelve webinars to discuss different areas, from logistics and marketing, business in China and Arabic countries, climate change, to entrepreneurship, finance, and new technologies. The project brought together more than 3,000 participants from over 115 countries.
International Advisory Committee Meeting Focuses on HSE University’s Third Mission
On May 31, International Advisory Committee met online to discuss HSE University’s third mission, its implementation and place in the university strategy. The meeting focused on HSE University’s volunteering and social initiatives, cooperation with non-profits, community engagement, students’ field research trips around Russia, and HSE Business Incubator.
